2011 Housing Report: Buyers' confidence on the rise two years in a row!

GREENSBORO, NC – Sales of existing, single-family homes in Greensboro during 2011 increased 7.4% from 2010, according to an annual housing report prepared by Dr. Donald Jud of Jud & Associates for the Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association.

A total of 2,332 units were sold in the Greensboro area of Guilford County in 2011, up from the 2,171 sold in 2010. The 2011 sales number also identifies a 1.3% increase from the 2,273 homes sold in 2009.

The inventory of homes available to be purchased at the end of 2011 was 2,002, a 10.7% decrease from the 2,241 homes on the market at the end of 2010 and a 2.5% decrease from the 2,107 homes on the market at the end of 2009.

2012 GRRA President Lolita Malave commented on the 2011 housing numbers:
“I’ve witnessed a significant increase in buyer activity both for myself and my REALTOR colleagues during the last year, and these numbers indicate the growth is city-wide,” Malave says. “Homebuyers are becoming more confident in the market and have taken a considerable chunk out of our inventory of available homes.”
